About The Position

The Tri-State LifeCare Caregiving (TLC) program is a non-hospice program of Hospice of Huntington. The Tri-State LifeCare Caregiving program is a service line program of Tri-State LifeCare. Tri-State LifeCare Caregivers (TLC Caregiver) performs in-home services that are all non-medical services to individuals who require assistance with daily living activities. The following is a list of services that TLC Caregivers may routinely perform; however, it is not exclusive of other reasonable requests.

Requirements

• Minimum 10th grade education required.
• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
• Reliable transportation with clean and smoke-free interior.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and possession of a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• High School graduate preferred.
• Minimum one (1) year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicating all schedule changes, concerns, and any other care related issues directly to their supervisor.
• Documenting in accordance with the company documentation system set forth.
• Interacting with patient and in social settings with high integrity, politeness, respect and excellent communication.
• Being prepared to act in emergency situations as trained.
• Communicating with supervisor regarding patient needs and recommendations for care plan change.
• Performing the duties that are outlined in each Care Plan, which may include playing board games, reading, watching TV, doing crossword puzzles, arts and crafts projects, light housekeeping (dusting, vacuuming, cleaning kitchen & bathroom, organizing closets, changing linen, laundry, light ironing, sweeping floors), meal planning and preparation, bathing/showering assistance, personal hygiene (assisting with grooming needs such as hair care, shaving with an electric razor, cleaning teeth and routine nail care), errands & shopping (grocery and clothes shopping, picking up prescriptions, taking client to the bank, theater and movie events, dining out, driving to family gatherings, handling dry-cleaning, buying stamps, mailing packages, attending church services), medication reminders, pet care, and supervising home maintenance such as housecleaning.
