This is a part-time position where the employee will process and re-assign titles for vehicles sold by the auction. The role involves examining vehicle titles for accuracy and conformity to specified requirements, verifying acceptance of the title in the state for which it is filed, and confirming accurate title VIN number, odometer reading, releases of liens, and ensuring titles contain no alterations. The employee will also determine the negotiability of title documents, assess for potential fraud, and report any discrepancies. Responsibilities include resolving titling issues through interaction with customers, dealers, and regulatory agencies, and potentially negotiating price adjustments between buyer and seller for title problems. Maintaining knowledge of current DMV laws and regulations related to vehicle titles and interpreting titling regulations in each state is crucial. The role also involves receiving and routing telephone calls, processing sale day transactions using AS400, providing customer service, running outstanding title reports, issuing gate passes, assisting with sale day balancing, and running 15-day outstanding title reports for consignment vehicles sold without title. Additionally, the employee will match invoices against reports, contact sellers to obtain titles, notate title status in the system, and assist with title and check audits. A commitment to safety procedures and active participation in safety activities are also required.
