About The Position

The Hourly Title I Tutor, under the direct supervision of a highly qualified teacher, tutors identified students, on an "as- needed" basis, as determined by student assessment and identified needs, utilizing a flexible schedule, and at varying times throughout the school year.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or accredited equivalency, and at least one of the following Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) qualifications: a. Two years of study (at least 60 credit hours) at an institution of higher education; b. ACT Work Keys Assessment with a passing score in all three areas, Reading - level 4, Mathematics – level 4, Writing – level 3 c. Basic Skills Test of the Michigan Teacher for Certification with passing scores; or d. Education Testing Service (ETS) Paraprofessional Assessment with a passing level of 460.
  • Technology skills to support online testing.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and express ideas.
  • Ability to develop rapport with students.
  • Ability to follow instructions given by the classroom teacher.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures in a secure setting.

Responsibilities

  • Tutors identified students, on an "as- needed" basis, as determined by student assessment and identified needs.
  • Utilizes a flexible schedule, and at varying times throughout the school year.
  • Completes and submits biweekly time sheets.
  • Maintains work activity logs.
  • Completes and submits Time and Effort Reports (i.e., Monthly Federal Certification Forms and Personnel Activity Reports or Semi-Annual Certification Forms) as required for any personnel fully or partially funded with federal funds.
