About The Position

The Title I Instructional Assistant for the Instrumental Music Program will provide support to students and teachers within the instrumental music program. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of music classes and assisting students in their musical development.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience working with students, preferably in an educational or music setting.
• Basic understanding of instrumental music and instruments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree or higher.
• Experience playing a musical instrument.
• Previous experience as an instructional assistant or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of Title I programs and their objectives.

Responsibilities

• Assist the instrumental music teacher in classroom management and instruction.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students needing extra help with musical concepts or instrument techniques.
• Prepare and organize musical materials, instruments, and equipment.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down for performances and rehearsals.
• Supervise students during class, rehearsals, and other music-related activities.
• Help maintain the condition and inventory of instruments and music library.
• Collaborate with the teacher to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
