About The Position

Title I Family Coordinators play a vital role in ensuring compliance with federal regulations and guidelines related to Title I programs, which provide additional academic support to students from low-income families. They are responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring Title I programs within educational institutions. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including teachers, administrators, parents, and community members, to ensure effective program implementation and student success.

Responsibilities

  • Assists parents with understanding Title I Part A, ESEA, report cards, learning compacts, assessments, progress reports, Parent Rights & Responsibilities, school improvement and Flexible Learning Program.
  • Assists school with securing important documentation from parents (i.e., school compacts and parent surveys).
  • Provides leadership to monthly parent townhall meetings.
  • Coordinates parent volunteer program with continuous recruitment and training for volunteers.
  • Creates opportunities to involve all parents in the education of their child.
  • Establishes and meets regularly with the Parent Involvement Committee.
  • Advertises all Title I Parent Involvement activities through a variety of media and communicates important school related and Title I updates and news with parents via school newsletter, school website, social media, and during in-person events.
  • Initiates and responds to parent phone calls, emails, and written correspondence related to Parent Involvement
  • Strengthens home-school relationships by facilitating positive proactive communication between families and educators.
  • Strong social media presence for parent and community engagement
  • Develops, implements, and oversees Title I program initiatives in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Coordinates the allocation and utilization of Title I funds, ensuring alignment with program goals and local regulations.
  • Collaborates with school administrators to identify eligible students for Title I services.
  • Coordinates academic-based learning opportunities/workshops for parents at flexible times in collaboration with school leaders.
  • Develops and maintains a Parent Resource Center, library, or corner within the school.
  • Selects and purchases appropriate materials for parent checkout and provides training for parents in the use of materials.
  • Plans and coordinates monthly or bi-monthly academic focused parent workshops.
  • Assists parents with the understanding of progress reports, school progress reports, assessments. and report cards.
  • Identify students and families who identify as homeless and keep track of resources provided.
  • Calculate and keep accurate data of parental involvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of Title I expenditures, program activities, and student participation.
  • Participates in yearly conferences to gain understanding of compliance and accountability expectations.
  • Participate in program reviews, audits, and site visits conducted by regulatory agencies.
