The Title Clerk position is responsible for processing and maintaining accurate title documentation, including vehicle title transfers, lien releases, incoming paper title, and electronic lien and title (ELT) custody records. This position supports daily title operations by reviewing documentation for accuracy, managing title-related requests, preparing outbound correspondence, monitoring titles in transit, and maintain timely records of outstanding title issues. The Title Clerk serves as a key point of contact for title-related inquiries from dealers, internal departments, customers, third-party vendors, and state agencies. This role is responsible for dealer support through inbound and outbound communication, documents account activity, follow up on outstanding title requirements, and assists with resolving title exceptions. The position works collaboratively with internal teams and is cross trained to provide support for imaging services, mail room services, custody collateral, and front desk coverage. This position reports to the Title Manager and works in close conjunction with the Records & Custody Department, Remarketing Department, Autonation dealerships, and internal teams including Sales, Funding, Servicing, and Accounting. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, organized, self-directed, and demonstrates strong communication and problem-solving skills while performing all duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
