The Title Clerk prepares legal transfer documents for the Department of Motor Vehicles, verifies and enters any fees assigned to a vehicle. This role involves preparing tag and title documents, submitting legal transfer documents to the DMV, and preparing checks to reimburse Buyers for any DMV fees. The clerk will also input title information into the auction software for sold cars, determine outstanding fees owed by looking up the Vehicle Information Number (VIN) in the state DMV system, and prepare and maintain vehicle jackets. Additionally, the role requires keeping titles secured until customers retrieve them, preparing express shipments or registered mail for shipping titles to customers, administering all title processing for auction transactions, creating title reports and amounts owed for flooring companies, and staying current with applicable state laws and Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) laws and regulations.
