About The Position

Flat River Minerals (FRM) is a leading mineral and royalty acquisition company focused on acquiring and managing oil and gas assets. FRM is seeking an experienced Title Landman to join its growing Appalachia team in Morgantown, West Virginia. This role is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented professional with at least three years of Appalachian title experience who is looking to take ownership of complex due diligence projects while working directly alongside acquisitions, land, and management teams. The successful candidate will play a critical role in evaluating mineral, royalty, and lease acquisition opportunities throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia by conducting title research and identifying title issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of Appalachian title experience in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and/or West Virginia
  • Strong understanding of mineral ownership, leasehold ownership, probate research, and title curative
  • Ability to independently run title and evaluate ownership interests from patent or sovereignty forward
  • Experience interpreting oil and gas leases, assignments, pooling documents, and related agreements
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and modern title management software

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conducting title due diligence for mineral and royalty acquisitions
  • Familiarity with Marcellus and Utica ownership structures and development practices
  • Working knowledge of Tracts, Enverus, CourthouseDirect, or similar industry software
  • In-house mineral acquisition, E&P, or title company experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform mineral and leasehold title research utilizing county records, online courthouse systems, and proprietary title databases
  • Analyze deeds, leases, probate records, assignments, reservations, and other title instruments to determine ownership
  • Build and maintain ownership records and title chains within the Company's title software platform
  • Conduct acquisition and divestiture due diligence for mineral, royalty, and non-operated working interest transactions
  • Identify, document, and communicate title defects, ownership discrepancies, and curative requirements
  • Work directly with acquisition specialists, GIS analysts, attorneys, and management to support transaction execution
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting transaction deadlines
