About The Position

LifeGift is currently looking for a Tissue Recovery Technician to assist with the tissue recovery process and packaging of tissue to appropriate parties. This is a PRN/Per Diem position, and all TRT employees are expected to work 20 hours (or less) per week. This is not a full-time position and may have irregular duty cycles.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Must have minimum of 1-year clinical experience in an operating room setting with proficiency in aseptic procedures/sterile instrumentation
As a condition of employment, you must be able to attain Hospital Badge and EMR Access from all of the LifeGift Hospital Partners.
Team members must commit to a minimum of 10 days with on-call availability per month (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
24-hour on-call availability each day are preferred or minimally must be available for 12 contiguous hours

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of the operating room suite and prepare the donor for the aseptic surgical tissue recovery process.
Utilize aseptic technique to assist in all aspects of cadaveric tissue recovery according to established guidelines.
Assist in the performance of each step in the collection, culturing, packaging, and labeling of tissues as well as the body reconstruction and disposition after procurement.
Maintain proper records relating to tissue recovery and be available for call during scheduled shifts as assigned.
