About The Position

Live On Nebraska is seeking a Per Diem Tissue Procurement Coordinator to support our mission of saving and enhancing lives. This role plays a crucial part in the donor recovery process, ensuring all procedures are conducted with precision, professionalism, and adherence to the highest medical standards. Required to work at least 8 shifts per month. Shifts are 12 hours (0700 - 1900, 1900 – 0700) to facilitate the recovery of Tissues.

Requirements

Experience as a Surgical Tech, LPN, EMT, Nursing, or other health science professional and/or a bachelor’s degree with a focus on Human Anatomy, is preferred.
Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and sterile techniques preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to document medical data with accuracy.
Ability to assess and interpret complex medical information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.).
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.
Valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance required.

Responsibilities

Assist in donor recovery and assessment procedures on an as-needed basis.
Participate in planning meetings to discuss case details and team roles.
Prepare and maintain sterile operating environments before and after procedures.
Conduct thorough physical examinations of donors, documenting all findings.
Collect biological samples for laboratory testing and ensure proper handling and labeling.
Utilize surgical tools to assist in tissue recovery while maintaining strict sterile techniques.
Maintain clear and accurate documentation of all procedural activities.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners, including hospitals, coroners, and processing facilities.
