About The Position

The Laborer supports the daily operations of the greenhouse through hands-on plant-care and laboratory tasks. Responsibilities include transplanting, trimming, fertilizing, and maintaining plant health in a physically active greenhouse and laboratory environment. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety and operational standards. Work is primarily conducted in a greenhouse, with some outdoor tasks and exposure to varying weather conditions. The position requires use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and safety vests. Physical activities include standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods, lifting and moving heavy objects, and using hands and arms to operate tools and equipment. Irregular hours may be required during critical periods of the season.

Responsibilities

Fill trays with soil and prepare planting materials.
Grade plants by size and quality.
Transplant plants into trays with soil.
Trim and water plants, and apply fertilizers.
Prepare and load plant racks for shipping.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Perform routine maintenance on greenhouse and nursery equipment.
Wash glassware and clean laboratory areas.
Assist with culture media preparation and sterilization.
Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently.
Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear.
Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and support additional tasks as needed to meet business goals.
