About The Position

This role will be responsible for coordinating and matching donor tissue to surgeons based on clinical requirements and ensuring appropriate tissue allocation in accordance with established protocols and quality standards. Responsibilities include overseeing accurate tissue distribution, managing shipment logistics, and ensuring tissue is delivered within required timeframes to support optimal surgical outcomes and customer service excellence. The position will initially be structured as a full-time (8-4) onsite role to support training, operational integration, and relationship development, with a planned transition to a hybrid/On-call work model based on operational needs and performance expectations.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or 2 years of college or High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience required with Associate's Degree or 2 years of college or 3 years experience in surgery scheduling, purchasing, logistics, or customer service with High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas Drivers License
  • Pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
  • Complete drivers training (or van training, if applicable), in accordance with UTS Policy 157, appendix B. Upon Hire

Responsibilities

  • Receive and document orders for tissue allografts for surgical procedures via phone, fax or email
  • Select tissue allografts for orders based on tissue criteria, inspect, package and ship allografts for distribution
  • Prioritize order fulfillment based on surgery times, location, and shipping/delivery logistics
  • Receive, check-in and store tissue allografts received from tissue vendors
  • Maintain and verify inventory of tissue allografts using specialized software; maintain inventory of shipping supplies; order shipping supplies.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with surgery schedulers, tissue vendor representatives, couriers, shipping companies and other UT Southwestern departments, including but not limited Telecommunications, Purchasing, Accounting and Physical Plant.
  • Make deliveries of tissue allografts to UT Southwestern affiliated facilities
  • Request medical records/pathology reports from hospitals and medical examiners.
  • Function in an on-call capacity for emergency needs for allograft tissue
  • Perform other duties as required
