About The Position

We are seeking a mechanically inclined Tire Repair Installation/Road Service Technician. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of semi-trailer repairs, including brakes, electrical systems, floor repair, tires, welding, hydraulics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and modification work. Experience with DOT inspections, tire mounting/dismounting, and tire repair is also essential. This role involves performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on trailing equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer and company schedules, as well as relevant regulations (DOT, EPA, OSHA). The technician will be responsible for shop cleanliness, safety, and compliance, and must be able to work in various environmental conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. Participation in company training programs and prompt daily attendance are expected.

Requirements

  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Experience in all phases of semi-trailer repairs (brakes, electrical, floor repair, tires, welding, hydraulics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications work).
  • Experience in DOT inspections.
  • Experience with tire mounting and dismounting.
  • Ability to access any area of the equipment to perform necessary maintenance.
  • Ability to safely walk and stand for extended periods on various surfaces, including outdoors in inclement weather.
  • Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 75 lbs. occasionally).
  • Ability to safely walk, reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel as necessary.
  • Knowledge and adherence to DOT, EPA, OSHA, and other relevant rules and regulations.
  • Clean MVR.
  • Pass a drug test.
  • Pass a DOT physical.
  • 1 year of Automotive repair experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous or current ASE certifications.
  • Basic welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, ARC, and MIG).
  • 1 year of Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on trailing equipment.
  • Inspect and perform work in, on, or under parts of trailers.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation.
  • Follow company policies and procedures in making all repairs.
  • Participate in company training programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure prompt, daily attendance at the assigned work location.
