About The Position

Performs a variety of tasks related to inspecting and repairing tires used on all types of equipment ranging from small cars to the heaviest of earth moving equipment. This position requires the ability to work with little supervision. The specialist will dismount, repair, remount, and inflate tires on all types of equipment, including dual wheels and all types of rims. They will also properly balance tires using an electronic balancing machine and maintain necessary records and adequate stock. Other duties as required.

Requirements

• Knowledge of commercial tire construction, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle safety standards as related to tire repair.
• Skilled in repairing heavy to light commercial tires.
• Skilled in the use of installation tools and equipment for repairing commercial tires.
• Ability to keep accurate records.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work with little supervision both in the shop and on the road.
• Ability to dismount, repair, remount, and inflate tires on all types of equipment including dual wheels and all types of rims.
• Ability to properly balance tires using an electronic balancing machine.
• Ability to work effectively with other employees.
• Constantly sees, hears, stands, bends, crawls.
• Frequently stoops, squats, walks, writes by hand, uses a calculator, cleans, uses measuring equipment, uses physical dexterity, requires stamina, lifts objects weighing up to 100 lbs., climbs, reaches and pulls.
• One (1) year experience in the repair of heavy to light commercial tires; including tires on heavy equipment, trucks and automobiles.
• Must possess a valid Class C Driver's License with a good driving record.
• Applicant selected for hire will be subject to a background investigation and drug/alcohol screen test.

• Graduation from high school or equivalent preferred.
