About The Position

A Tire Mounter installs, removes, repairs, and balances tires on a variety of vehicles and equipment. This role is hands‑on, fast‑paced, and essential for keeping customer vehicles safe and road‑ready.

Requirements

Experience with tire mounting equipment (or willingness to learn)
Ability to lift and move heavy tires and wheels (often 50–100 lbs)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Basic mechanical aptitude
Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast‑paced environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
High School diploma or equivalent
1+ years of experience in a tire shop or automotive service center
Experience with on-road or off‑road tires
Constant physical activity; standing, walking, reaching, grasping, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive motion for an 8-hour up to a 12-hour shift.
Visual acuity
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

Mount, dismount, balance, and rotate passenger, light‑truck, or commercial tires
Inspect tires and wheels for wear, damage, and safety concerns
Repair punctures and perform patching or plug repairs following safety standards
Operate tire‑changing machines, balancers, air tools, and hand tools
Torque wheels to manufacturer specifications
Maintain clean and organized work areas
Assist with inventory, stocking, and handling of tires and supplies
Provide basic customer service and explain tire issues when needed
Follow all shop safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and PPE use
