About The Position

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) from an accredited institution with at least 24 semester credit hours of quantitative analysis coursework and at least 10 years related experience.
  • Must have a valid US driver's license
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
  • Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication.
  • Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision-making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions.
  • Collect and analyze data and develop decision support software, services, or products.
  • Develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation.
  • Perform advanced planning on a project basis, conducting comprehensive studies to determine and recommend the best alternative solution to the problems assigned.
  • Prepares reports, exhibits and technical analyses with recommendations which form the basis for a plan of action.
  • Design overall cost estimate plans, and construct mathematical models required to calculate and evaluate variables and relationships affecting the total life cycle cost for investment and operation phase.
  • Refine and adjust models in response to changes in requirements, design alternatives, engineering, and operational trade-off proposals.
  • Establishes novel and-unique approaches for solving problems through application of analytical techniques in area where policy, doctrine, methods, or procedures do not exist, and basic assumptions must be formulated.
  • May lead or direct the efforts of others.
