About The Position
This position is responsible for maintaining a steady flow of lumber to the planer feed table. The operator will use a console and foot pedal to ensure lumber remains straight and flat. Duties include removing stacking sticks or cross-outs, keeping hang-ups clear, and performing general cleanup. The role requires a constant state of alertness and adherence to safety protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to work any shift (Days, Nights, Weekends).
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Self-motivated, hard worker
- Must be a safety-oriented individual.
Responsibilities
- Operate console and foot pedal to keep lumber straight and flat.
- Using a pike pole remove any stacking sticks or cross-outs that do not fall onto the belt.
- Keep hang ups clear from stick belt under tilt hoist.
- Follow all applicable safety rules.
- Work regularly scheduled shifts.
- Work scheduled overtime – as required.
- Clean up during down time with air wand, rake, or shovel.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
