About The Position

The Till Clerk manages farebox tills, maintains daily operational logs, and performs clerical duties in a transit environment. The work is physically demanding and is performed in all seasons and weather conditions. The position operates under the supervision of the Service Shift Supervisor of the Station Maintenance Unit.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D.
General knowledge of company rules, practices, fare structure, and divisional clerical routines.
Must be bondable.
Alertness, good judgment, tact, initiative, and ability to follow written and verbal orders.
Legible handwriting.
Successful completion of a lumbar physical test.
Proficiency in ten-key adding machine operations after 30 days of on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

Remove and vault tills from farebox cabinets and replace them with empty tills.
Enter bus number and status information on the daily tally sheet.
Record daily information and document irregularities concerning tills, fareboxes, vaulting equipment, and destination signs.
Perform filing and light data entry.
Perform other miscellaneous clerical duties as assigned.
