About The Position
The Till Clerk manages farebox tills, maintains operational daily logs, and performs clerical tasks in a transit environment. The work is physically demanding and is performed in all seasons and weather conditions. The position is under the supervision of the Service Shift Supervisor of the Station Maintenance Unit.
Requirements
- General knowledge of company rules, practices, fare structure, and division clerical routine.
- Must be bondable.
- Alertness, good judgment, tact, initiative, and ability to follow written and verbal orders.
- Legible handwriting.
- Must complete and pass a lumbar physical test.
- Must become proficient in ten-key adding machine operations within 30 days of on-the-job training.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
Responsibilities
- Remove and vault tills from farebox cabinets and replace them with empty tills.
- Enter bus number and status information on the daily tally sheet.
- Record daily information and document irregularities concerning tills, fareboxes, vaulting equipment, and destination signs.
- Perform filing and light data entry.
- Perform other miscellaneous clerical duties as assigned.
