Tile Press Operator - Day Shift

About The Position

Dal-Tile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries and a manufacturer of tile and natural stone, is hiring a Tile Press Operator. The role is responsible for safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment, following the Quality Management System and standard operating and safety practices, and maintaining a clean, organized work area. The operator stocks machines with materials, transports and mixes ingredients, loads and unloads machines, checks production output, creates samples, and performs quality-control checks. The position also requires reporting safety, quality, productivity, and systems-related problems to a supervisor and maintaining relevant records. The schedule is a 2-2-3 rotation, with shift hours from 6 AM to 6 PM. Requirements

Ability to understand and speak basic English.
Dal-Tile certification to operate powered industrial trucks.

Responsibilities

Ensure safe and efficient operation of all assigned equipment.
Follow the Quality Management System (QMS).
Stock lines and machines with needed materials.
Transport, weigh, and mix appropriate ingredients.
Load and unload machines.
Perform periodic checks on output.
Create samples and perform quality-control checks.
Monitor equipment or processes and report safety, quality, productivity, and systems-related problems to a supervisor.
Maintain documentation and records relating to safety, quality, and productivity for the assigned area.
Follow standard operating procedures and safe operating practices.
Keep the work area safe, clean, and organized.
Support a lifelong learning environment by enhancing personal skills and assisting in the development of other employees.
Perform other related duties as required.
