About The Position

FTS / Flexblue Staffing is seeking a skilled TIG Welder with aluminum experience to join our fabrication team in New Orleans, LA. This role focuses on precision welding of aluminum components used in industrial equipment and custom fabrication projects.

Requirements

• 2+ years of TIG welding experience, specifically with aluminum
• Strong understanding of heat control and distortion prevention
• Ability to weld in multiple positions (flat, vertical, overhead)
• Experience reading blueprints and measuring accurately
• Familiarity with shop tools (grinders, saws, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship

Nice To Haves

• Experience in custom fabrication or manufacturing environment
• Welding certifications (AWS or equivalent)
• Experience with stainless steel TIG welding as a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on aluminum materials (thin gauge to heavy wall)
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols
• Ensure welds meet quality and safety standards
• Set up and operate welding equipment, including proper gas selection and settings
• Grind, clean, and prep materials prior to welding
• Inspect completed welds for accuracy, strength, and appearance
• Collaborate with fabrication and production teams to meet deadlines
