Our ideal applicant has experience TIG welding stainless steel and aluminum, as well as experience with MIG welding processes and various grinding tools. You must be able to read blueprints or technical schematics. We expect our team members to have strong attention to detail in order to ensure the quality of each weld and the safety of the workplace.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Completion of technical training or apprenticeship
- Attention to detail
- Ability to read blueprints or technical schematics
- Experience TIG welding stainless steel and aluminum
- Experience with MIG welding processes
- Experience with various grinding tools
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of both TIG and MIG welding preferred
- Welding certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Use gas tungsten arc equipment as part of the fabrication process
- Install or repair metal components
- Use grinding equipment in the cleaning process
- Follow blueprints or technical schematics
- Ensure compliance with established health/safety policies and regulations
- Carry out grinding and thermal cutting operations to obtain various textures and sizes for metal parts
- Oversee the set-up of TIG welding equipment
- Operate power and hand tools such as arc welders, buffing machine, and scrapers
- Maintain good working knowledge of the welding characteristics of metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, schematics, and codes
- Ensure welding operations meet set specifications and construction requirements
- Oversee the training and mentoring of new and trainee TIG welders
- Perform TIG welding on materials such as fiberglass, iron, plastic, and copper
- Conduct radiographic and bend tests to verify the quality of weld.
