The Tig Welder position responsibilities include fitting and joining and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedules. Requirements

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in an effective way.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and caliper.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints and other shop drawing aids.
  • Demonstrated competency in basic shop math, including fraction to decimal conversion skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding duties using a TIG welder.
  • Use welding equipment to weld steel components as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
  • Work with others to assist in the welding of multi-component parts.
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the jobs needs.
  • Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
  • Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
  • Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.
  • Communicates with management, for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventive maintenance functions on equipment.
  • Suggest and implement improvements.
  • Completes all required safety procedures prior to and during operations.
