About The Position

Aether Aerospace is seeking a full-time TIG Welder in Hollywood, Maryland. The selected candidate must have good knowledge and understanding of welding applications and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. The role involves performing welding and fabrication work according to project requirements, interpreting plans and drawings, and creating fixtures for production welding environments. The position is a full-time, permanent employee role with an immediate start date.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience as a commercial or aerospace welder.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Good knowledge and understanding of welding applications.
• Current AWS D17.1 certification in aluminum, carbon steel, or stainless steel.
• Knowledge of heat applications and heat absorbents used during welding to prevent part warpage.
• General knowledge of shop practices, including layout, drilling, sawing, and grinding.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds daily.
• Ability to wear approved personal protective equipment.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and other shifts as required.

Nice To Haves

• Current and valid welding certifications.
• Experience with advanced fabrication methods, preferably in the aerospace industry.
• AutoCAD experience for schematics and drawings.
• OrCAD, preferred, or similar EDA tools such as Altium for PCB development.

Responsibilities

• Perform different welding methods based on project requirements.
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, written instructions, and diagrams to perform assigned tasks.
• Use advanced fabrication methods, preferably in an aerospace industry setting.
• Create fixturing for production welding environments.
• Apply knowledge of heat applications and heat absorbents during welding operations to prevent warpage of parts.
• Carry out general shop practices, including layout, drilling, sawing, and grinding.
• Wear approved personal protective equipment.
• Work overtime, weekends, and other shifts as required.
