About The Position

Hartzell Aerospace Welding seeks an eager TIG Welder I with a background in assembly and manufacturing. The TIG welder is responsible for the proper fabrication and welding of customer parts and assemblies as requested. This role involves high variety, low volume part work, with a goal of no less than 90% of completed parts successfully passing inspection. The position also requires offering viable semi-annual process improvement initiatives, following all safety policies and guidelines, completing all necessary documentation for proper tracking of work, and general shop housekeeping.

Requirements

High School diploma or G.E.D.
Successful completion of accredited welding course or equivalent on the job training and 1-3 years high level TIG welding experience
Willing and able to follow both verbal and written work instructions.
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time while performing job duties.
Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in fractions as well as decimals.
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
Mechanical Aptitude – demonstrated examples (on the job or outside of work) showing competency to work with hands. Might include items such as body work skills, crate repair, general wrenching ability, construction work, etc.
Manual Dexterity – Ability to perform a job that requires detailed handwork.
Experience with Process Standards – Demonstrated ability to read, understand and execute to written instruction.
Computer Skills – experience with entering and retrieving data from a computer.
