AT&T Global Public Sector is seeking a Tier III O&M Network Engineer to support the customer’s various wide area networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs). This position will provide routing to an enterprise-level infrastructure across multiple classifications and act as subject matter experts in routing technologies across multiple vendors. The role requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week at the government customer site in Springfield, VA. The engineer will be responsible for Tier III Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of Juniper and Cisco routers, including extensive troubleshooting at the layer 2 and layer 3 level and implementation of routing changes. This includes troubleshooting network issues related to connectivity, latency, and asymmetric routing, as well as implementation of routing and troubleshooting issues related to OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VRF’s, and VPN’s. The position also involves supporting technical exchange meetings, problem management for root cause analysis, day-to-day O&M support for incident management, collaboration with IT staff on projects, and working with technical support teams to resolve network traffic concerns. The engineer will utilize monitoring tools and log collectors for in-depth analysis of traffic anomalies and issues. The candidate will also be on call after hours on a rotational basis.
