About The Position

Dexian Government Solutions is recruiting for an Tier III Engineering Support/System Center Operations Manager to support our contract at the Defense Health Agency (DHA) DDSB onsite in San Antonio, Texas. This role involves providing Microsoft (MS) system administration support, including analysis, validation, and configuration of various services such as VMWare, Change Auditor, BitLocker, System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Microsoft Certificate Authority, Microsoft Group Policy Administration, Microsoft Mail Relay, Entra ID, and Microsoft Intune. The position also includes training local administration and enterprise support staff, conducting disaster recovery operations, managing single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions, communicating effectively with stakeholders, writing reports, preparing checklists for monitoring and preventive maintenance, supporting Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) architecture, installing and maintaining physical and virtual servers, adhering to security procedures, patching and hardening systems, and ensuring security policies meet Approval to Operate (ATO) requirements. The role also involves analyzing business requirements, creating IT solutions, and working with technology architects. A key responsibility is using Microsoft SCOM to monitor system uptime, availability, and maintain the framework for applications, servers, and services, as well as analyzing and reporting on the enterprise system monitoring implementation and customizing SCOM rules, alerting, and reporting functions. Maintaining disaster recovery capability and ensuring SCOM servers comply with DISA STIGs are also critical. The role requires clearing and troubleshooting SCOM warning and critical states, completing daily maintenance tasks for SCOM agents, performing daily health checks on SCOM servers, and creating SCOM Dashboards and views.

Requirements

  • Must be experience with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2019 or later.
  • Familiar with creating Views, Groups, and Security Administration of Microsoft System Center.
  • Experience creating monitors, rules, discoveries and management packs in System Center Operations Manager.
  • Must have a High School diploma or GED.
  • Must have an IAT II Security+ Certification Required to Start.
  • Must have and maintain DoD Information Assurance (IA) Technical Designation of IAT III within 180 Days of Starting.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a current NACLC Background Check &/or Secret (or higher level) Clearance
  • This role requires customer approval, suitability to hold a public trust and successful completion of a preemployment background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Microsoft (MS) system administration support to analyze current Active Directory Hybrid Cloud implementation and provide status reports before and after remediation actions are engineered and executed.
  • Provide support services to include Tier 3 level expertise through analysis, validation, and configuration of current services, which include, VMWare, Change Auditor, BitLocker, System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Microsoft Certificate Authority, Microsoft Group Policy Administration, Microsoft Mail Relay, Entra ID and Microsoft Intune.
  • Provide training and support sessions Local Administration, Enterprise Tier 2 and Tier 3 support staff to include best practices and troubleshooting processes.
  • Conduct disaster recovery operations for all supported systems.
  • Operate in and manage single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions using CAC and Alt-token certificate services.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with customers, stakeholders, and other technical specialists, effectively leading detailed technical discussions and creating and presenting briefing materials.
  • Clearly and effectively write weekly and on-demand reports for work performed.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly checklists for enterprise monitoring and preventive maintenance.
  • Support and maintain Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) architecture to provide authentication, synchronization, user provisioning, and authorization services for AD user accounts.
  • Support the installation and maintenance of physical and virtual servers in support of taskers, initiatives, and projects.
  • Adhere to proper security and certification procedures.
  • Patch and harden systems.
  • Ensure security policies meet Approval to Operate (ATO) and provide documentation to in support of the Enterprise.
  • Analyze evolving business requirements and create appropriate solutions involving Information Technology products, processes, and people.
  • Work closely with technology architects and engineers to ensure solutions are realistic and compatible with the environment.
  • Using Microsoft SCOM, monitor system uptime availability and maintain the framework for new and existing applications, servers, and services that require monitoring at the enterprise level.
  • Analyze DHA current enterprise system monitoring implementation and provide a status report before and after remediation actions engineered and executed.
  • Customize enterprise monitoring rules, alerting, and reporting functions for applicable DHA applications and servers, and produce reports depicting the performance indicators for these applications and servers, such as "uptime" and "downtime."
  • Maintain disaster recovery capability and procedures and ensure all enterprise monitoring servers are compliant to the latest appropriate DISA STIGs.
  • Clear and troubleshoot System Center Operations Manager warning and critical states.
  • Complete daily maintenance tasks of installing, updating and troubleshooting System Center Operation Manager agents.
  • Perform daily health checks on System Center Operation Management servers for anomalies, outages, and increased activity.
  • Create System Center Operations Manager Dashboards and views that increase customer productivity.
