Riley Power Group•Yemassee, SC

About The Position

Riley Power Group, LLC is hiring skilled first-class welders for multiple sites in the United States. The Tier I Structural Welder performs welding on carbon steel assemblies to required tolerances using GMAW-SP and GMAW-P processes, various welding metals and alloys, and different joint configurations. The role requires passing weld tests in all positions in accordance with NAVSEA requirements, producing first-time quality work, and demonstrating UT proficiency. Candidates must be able to weld Note 18 joints: full-penetration, open-root welds from one side to UT quality. The welder determines weld sequence and follows engineering drawings and specifications, reads weld symbols, monitors heat input, and sequences welding to minimize distortion. The role also involves oxy/fuel preheating, carbon arc gouging, and checking weld size with weld gauges. Weld tests are conducted onsite by X-ray, with acceptance criteria under NAVSEA Technical Publication S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248. The work may involve 8-to-12-hour shifts, occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, extended standing and walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders up to 25 feet, and occasional confined-space work with potential exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, and radiation. Respirator fit-check and use may be required for part or all of a shift; employees must be clean-shaven for the fit-check and respirator use. Candidates must be willing to work the client’s schedule, multiple shifts, and overtime, and must complete applicable pre-employment and employment screenings. Proof of identification and U.S. citizenship is required.
