About The Position

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a Tier 2 Support Specialist to join a mission-focused team supporting enterprise IT operations. This role provides advanced technical support for escalated user issues, maintains critical systems and applications, and helps ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the IT environment. This position requires a strong troubleshooting background, hands-on systems administration experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or another technically relevant field and 5 years of related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, 10 years of relevant experience supporting enterprise IT environments.
  • Experience providing Tier 2 or advanced technical support in a help desk, service desk, or systems administration capacity.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows-based systems, applications, user accounts, and network connectivity issues.
  • Familiarity with system administration, patch management, monitoring tools, and configuration management practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical procedures and solutions.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
  • DOD 8570 Certification
  • This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting enterprise server environments and business-critical applications.
  • Familiarity with security best practices, access management, endpoint protection, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and operational reporting.
  • Knowledge of system upgrades, migrations, and technology implementation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2 support for escalated service desk incidents and requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, network, and user access issues.
  • Monitor, maintain, and support servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications.
  • Install, configure, deploy, and upgrade hardware, software, and system tools.
  • Perform system health checks, patching, updates, and configuration management activities.
  • Support account administration, permissions management, and access control processes.
  • Respond to system alerts, outages, and incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to track system performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Assist with implementation of security controls, endpoint protection measures, and compliance initiatives.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, standards, and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, application, and help desk teams to improve service delivery and support ongoing projects.
