Ticket Writer
About The Position
The Ticket Writer, also known as a Sportsbook Cashier, is responsible for providing prompt, courteous, accurate, and exceptional service to guests. This role involves accepting bets and writing tickets for all sporting events using a sports computer system, as well as processing winning tickets and vouchers. The position requires maintaining and balancing a till, ensuring a neat and well-stocked workstation, and processing accurate transactions and reconciliations. A thorough understanding of sports wagering terms, conditions, lines, and odds is essential. The Ticket Writer must also accurately complete all required Company, federal, state, tax, and gaming regulation records and forms, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all established policies and procedures. Requirements
- Proficiency in using a sports computer system.
- Knowledge of all terms and conditions pertaining to sports wagering.
- Awareness of all lines and odds in the Sportsbook.
- Ability to accurately and thoroughly complete Company, federal, state, tax, and gaming regulation records and forms.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Adherence to established Company, departmental, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Ability to maintain and balance a till.
- Ability to follow void procedures and cash handling procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, courteous, accurate, and exceptional service to guests.
- Accept bets and write tickets for all sporting events using a sports computer system.
- Process winning tickets and vouchers presented by guests.
- Maintain and balance a till for issuing and redeeming tickets and vouchers, following void and cash handling procedures.
- Maintain a neat and well-stocked window for the next shift.
- Process and maintain accurate transactions and reconciliations.
- Understand all terms and conditions pertaining to sports wagering.
- Be fully aware of all lines and odds in the Sportsbook.
- Accurately and thoroughly complete all requisite Company, federal, state, tax, and/or gaming regulation records and forms.
- Maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
- Perform all duties in accordance with established Company, departmental, and regulatory policies and procedures.
