About The Position

The Ticket Taker Lead is the on-site supervisory anchor for all guest entry operations at Phoenix Convention Center venues. This position ensures Ticket Taker staff are properly deployed, entry flow is efficient and accurate, and any access issues are resolved without disrupting the guest experience. Across approximately 240-250 events per season at Symphony Hall and Orpheum Theatre, the Lead is the first line of escalation between front-of-house operations and S4 Global Solutions program management.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in ticket scanning, venue entry, or access control operations.
  • Prior lead or supervisory experience in a live event, hospitality, or venue environment.
  • English-speaking required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a high-energy crowd environment.
  • Must pass a background check as required by the client prior to first event.
  • Available for a flexible event-based schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working at performing arts venues, arenas, or convention centers.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/other language.
  • Familiarity with digital ticketing platforms and handheld scanning equipment.
  • Experience managing staff transitions or onboarding new teams into an existing operation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct Ticket Taker staff during pre-event setup, ingress, and throughout the event as needed.
  • Conduct pre-event briefings, confirm post assignments, and verify all staff are present and properly uniformed before doors open.
  • Oversee early-call setup - direct staff in stuffing program inserts and setting them at portal entry doors 30-60 minutes prior to guest arrival.
  • Monitor ticket scanning operations and guest entry flow; reposition staff as needed to manage volume at peak ingress periods.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for ticket discrepancies, invalid credentials, or guest access concerns.
  • Coordinate with venue management and event production staff on entry delays, equipment issues, or operational irregularities.
  • Maintain radio communication with the S4 Global Solutions Program Manager and venue operations staff throughout each event.
  • Document and report any incidents, access violations, or operational issues at event conclusion; provide staff attendance confirmation to Program Manager.
