About The Position

Amentum Space Exploration Division (ASED) is seeking a Thrust Vector Control (TVC) Systems Integration & Components Engineer to support advanced propulsion systems development, integration, testing, and flight operations. The position is part of the Engineering Services and Science Capability Augmentation (ESSCA) contract supporting NASA, where the engineer will work with industry and government experts on technologies for human spaceflight. The role focuses on hydraulic and electromechanical control systems that are critical to launch vehicle performance and mission success. The engineer will provide technical expertise on TVC hydraulic and electromechanical actuators, controllers, and Auxiliary Power Units; support control-system design and lifecycle activities; assess requirements, configurations, performance, procedures, and test data; and contribute to design reviews, qualification testing, anomaly resolution, and flight-performance evaluation. The position also includes hands-on hardware integration, assembly, and laboratory testing, along with preparation of engineering specifications, reports, recommendations, and presentations for program leadership and NASA stakeholders. The work is described as office-based and involves substantial computer use, technical communication, and collaboration with colleagues, management, and NASA clients. The normal schedule is 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with minimal overtime potentially required. Domestic travel is required, stated as up to 10% in the travel section and 5% in the work-environment section. Proof of U.S. citizenship is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Engineering or a related STEM discipline from an accredited university.
  • Relevant experience: Ph.D. with 2 or more years; Master's degree with 3–7 years; or Bachelor's degree with 5–10 years.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: hydraulic actuators, electro-mechanical actuators, auxiliary power units, hydraulic pumps, controllers, avionics, power systems, or related aerospace mechanisms.
  • Experience in aerospace component development, testing, and qualification.
  • Experience with fabrication, integration, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance for aerospace hardware.
  • Experience with aerospace sealing technologies and component materials.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and/or Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA).
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting engineering test data.
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship.
