About The Position
Goodwill Greater New York and Northern New Jersey (GWNYNJ) is seeking a Thrift Store Sales Specialist to deliver excellent customer service while supporting daily retail operations at their new store in Clifton Park. The Specialist will assist customers, process transactions, maintain store cleanliness, enforce store policies, and support daily operations, all while contributing to Goodwill's mission of unlocking the power of work and sustainable fashion in the community. Requirements
- Flexibility in availability to meet business needs (store operates Monday to Sunday, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm).
- Ability to handle pre-owned merchandise, which may contain allergens, dust, or other substances.
- Willingness to follow all safety guidelines and report concerns to management.
- Must be able to operate the register.

Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers promptly.
- Support donors as needed and direct them to the designated donation drop-off area.
- Regularly restock merchandise onto the sales floor, ensuring compliance with Goodwill’s visual standards.
- Promote Goodwill’s Rewards and Round-Up programs.
- Process sales transactions quickly and accurately.
- Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, fitting rooms, and checkout area.
- Follow store policies, including safety guidelines and occupancy limits when required.
- Operate the register and thank customers for their purchases.
- Monitor store entry and enforce safety measures if assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the store team and broader organizational goals.
