About The Position

The Thrift Store Clerk supports the mission of Family Crisis Centers by delivering excellent customer service, sorting and pricing donated goods, and maintaining a clean and welcoming store environment. This role plays a vital part in generating revenue to support victim services.

Requirements

Friendly and approachable, with a commitment to excellent customer service.
Must be able to contribute to a positive work environment, cultivating positive relationships with fellow coworkers and volunteers
Dependable, adaptable, and willing to take initiative with assigned tasks.
Occasionally may have to move bags/boxes weighing up to 20 pounds to the sorting room.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the building to place items or assist customers.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Must be able to adhere to process protocol.
Must pass all required background checks, including/not limited to: Criminal and child/dependent adult abuse background checks, Sex Offender Registry clearance.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail or customer service experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

Evaluate donated items for quality and appropriateness for sale.
Price and prepare items (clothing, household goods, etc.) for display.
Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner.
Operate the cash register, process transactions, and bag purchases.
Answer customer questions and help create a positive shopping experience.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work and shopping environment.
Assist with general upkeep including sweeping, organizing displays, and restocking shelves.
May be responsible for closing duties independently as scheduled.
Work cooperatively with staff and volunteers.
Perform other duties as assigned to support daily store operations.
