About The Position

Marana Health is seeking a Thrift Store Associate to join the Cotton Blossom team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. The Thrift Store Associate supports the daily operations of the organization’s nonprofit thrift store by assisting customers, processing donations, organizing merchandise, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This position supports the mission of the organization through quality customer service and community engagement. Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 11 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Our mission is to improve our community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card through DPS
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, staff, volunteers, and community members
  • Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system
  • Basic cash handling experience
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Ability to organize merchandise and maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a nonprofit, healthcare, or community-based organization
  • Experience processing donations, stocking merchandise, or maintaining retail displays
  • Bilingual
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

Responsibilities

  • Greets customers, donors, volunteers, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
  • Assists customers with locating merchandise, answering questions, and completing purchases
  • Receives, sorts, and processes donated items in accordance with organizational guidelines
  • Inspects donations for quality, cleanliness, and appropriateness for resale
  • Prices merchandise according to established procedures
  • Stocks and organizes merchandise displays to maintain an appealing sales floor
  • Assists with cashier duties, including operating the point-of-sale system and handling cash transactions accurately
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, fitting rooms, donation areas, storage rooms, and workspaces
  • Assists with inventory rotation, seasonal displays, and promotional events
  • Supports donation unloading activities as assigned
  • Follows all safety procedures and reports hazards, incidents, or concerns promptly
  • Assists in maintaining a positive and mission-driven environment that reflects the values of the organization
  • Works collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and leadership
  • Performs other duties as assigned
