Threat Radar Engineer SME

CanvasEglin AFB, FL

About The Position

This role requires an expert-level engineer with deep knowledge of threat radar systems. The engineer will be responsible for developing and refining radar threat models, simulations, and hardware-in-the-loop configurations to accurately replicate adversary radar capabilities. The position involves advising on the integration of these systems with various test environments and conducting advanced analysis of radar performance, vulnerabilities, and interactions. The role also includes supporting engineering reviews, test planning, and providing recommendations on system behavior and modernization strategies.

Requirements

  • Recognized industry expert or nationally acknowledged specialist in radar threat systems, electronic warfare, signal processing, or sensor emitter integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform complex engineering, analysis, and system behavior modeling tasks and provide strategic recommendations to senior government and contractor leadership.
  • Deep technical understanding of modern threat radar architectures, tracking modes, ECM/EP interactions, and developmental test methodologies.
  • Experience supporting high fidelity modeling, simulation, hardware in the loop environments, or test range integration of radar threat systems.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant EW, radar engineering, or advanced threat systems credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert level engineering knowledge on threat radar systems, including emitter characteristics, tracking and guidance algorithms, signal processing, and engagement simulation behaviors for test and evaluation environments.
  • Lead technical development and refinement of radar threat models, scripts, simulations, and hardware in the loop configurations to support high accuracy replication of adversary radar capabilities.
  • Advise on integration of threat radar systems with range instrumentation, command and control architectures, frequency management tools, and multispectral sensor test environments.
  • Conduct advanced analysis of radar system performance, vulnerabilities, countermeasure interactions, and interoperability with aircraft and weapon system test scenarios.
  • Support engineering reviews, test planning activities, design evaluations, and technical briefings, providing authoritative recommendations on system behavior, threat environment configuration, and modernization strategies.
