About The Position

This position initiates claims against individuals or companies for damages to highway property and follows them through until full payment is received. The role involves managing documentation, communicating with offending parties, arranging payment options, initiating small claims processes, and maintaining records. The coordinator must also ensure compliance with legal requirements and contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements

Demonstrates innovation and creative problem solving skills
Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information
Ability to prioritize and complete a high volume of work and manage multiple projects
Proficient use of Microsoft Suite Software
Strong written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with leadership and staff across all functional areas of the business
High School or GED Required
3-5 years’ experience

Nice To Haves

2 Years college preferred
Insurance industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

Receives audits and maintains the documentation packet from Emergency Response Coordinators which outlines accidents that have damaged highway property.
Initiates claims against offending parties.
Monitors/responds to ongoing questions or requests for additional information.
Makes arrangements for payment options with uninsured/underinsured parties.
Initiates small claims processes for unpaid claims.
Initiates bad debt write-offs.
Documents actions by accessing and entering data into Excel Access database.
Assists in providing monthly reports for Project Administrators.
Avoids legal challenges by complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
