About The Position

Community Leadership Academy is seeking an exceptional 3rd Grade Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is for a full-time position in Commerce City, Colorado. The school emphasizes a structured approach to teaching, providing established curriculum, instructional resources, classroom supplies, professional development, feedback, and clear expectations. Teachers are expected to focus on helping students learn and grow, fostering a classroom culture centered on learning, strong instruction, clear expectations, and meaningful relationships. The school serves a diverse, historically underserved community and aims to help students build the knowledge, confidence, habits, and academic skills necessary for future success. The instructional approach values structured instruction aligned with Madeline Hunter principles, clear learning objectives, modeling, direct instruction, guided practice, independent practice, frequent checks for understanding, strong phonics and foundational literacy, classical education principles, English immersion, vertical alignment, curriculum fidelity, benchmarks, progress monitoring, rubrics, exemplars, remediation, acceleration, and high expectations for all students. Teachers are expected to create organized, purposeful, engaging, positive, and academically rigorous classrooms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
  • Candidates must meet applicable qualification requirements through an appropriate degree, license or endorsement, qualifying coursework, or an approved content examination.
  • Strong classroom management skills are essential.
  • Strong instructional planning skills are essential.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Strong collaboration skills are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Elementary teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, rigorous, grade-level instruction.
  • Ensure fidelity to the school’s curriculum and instructional expectations while maintaining strong student engagement.
  • Use modeling, guided practice, independent practice, and frequent checks for understanding.
  • Maintain strong pacing and maximize instructional time.
  • Use student work, assessments, benchmarks, rubrics, and exemplars to monitor mastery.
  • Use data to reteach, remediate, and accelerate instruction.
  • Maintain clear classroom routines and behavioral expectations.
  • Communicate professionally and consistently with families.
