About The Position

Sigsbee Charter School, located in Key West, is looking for the best candidate to fill a Lead Teacher position (1st Grade) and become a part of our amazing team for the 2026-2027 school year. Requirements

• Eligibility for Florida certification is required.
• FL certification in Elementary Education (Grades K-6) or Prekindergarten/Primary Education (age 3 through grade 3) is a prerequisite for teaching in field.
• Out-of-State Certification: If you hold an unexpired, out-of-state, professional educator certificate in this subject area, please for Florida reciprocity.
• Elem Ed Major: Commonly accepted bachelor's (or higher degree) majors for a Florida temporary educator certificate include: Elementary Education 1-6, K-6, N/K-6, K-3, K-4, K-8, K-9, and Upper Elementary 4-6.
• For other degree majors, passing the FTCE Subject Area Exam in Elementary Education K-6 is required.
• Early Childhood Ed Major: Commonly accepted bachelor's (or higher degree) majors for a Florida temporary educator certificate include: Early Childhood Education if NK-3, NK-4, or Birth-Age 8; P-5, N-6, NK-6, Prekindergarten/Primary Education.
• For other degree majors, passing the FTCE Subject Area Exam in Prekindergarten/Primary PK-3 is required.
