About The Position

The Thin Film Cleaning Technician is responsible for executing established cleaning techniques, conducting thorough inspections, reporting process anomalies, and monitoring yield rates to ensure compliance with optical quality standards. This role involves using appropriate tools for clear apertures, ensuring accuracy in documentation and labeling, prioritizing parts for production runs, maximizing tooling efficiency, qualifying tools for defects, and reviewing engineering notes for standard and nonstandard specifications. The technician will also support utility duties, maintain a clean and professional work area, provide real-time feedback to Coating operators, and communicate any issues to engineers and supervisors. The position requires working in a clean room environment, handling hazardous and radioactive materials, and adhering to strict safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have at least two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • General knowledge of safety protocols and equipment operation
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Basic understanding of computer equipment, common instruments, laboratory equipment, and mechanical tools
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot basic issues
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to following strict safety protocols
  • Strong aptitude for learning complex technical processes and safety procedures
  • Requires a U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien, or protected individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) due to ITAR compliance

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational, trade school, or technical certificate preferred
  • Relevant experience in thin film cleaning or a similar field preferred
  • Some knowledge of general chemistry preferred
