About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring production machinery to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing. This position oversees multiple machines, performs in-process inspections, and supports picker/packers as needed. The Machine Operator maintains smooth production flow by performing basic maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and adhering to all safety and quality standards. This is a 2nd shift position, 3pm to 1am, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as machine operator or setup technician
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Machine operation and troubleshooting proficiency.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for preventive maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of quality control and production standards.
  • Ability to identify defects or process issues quickly.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Team-oriented attitude with clear communication on the production floor.
  • Commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Basic computer literacy for production data entry and reporting.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout shift.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity to operate controls and handle small parts.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and hairnets.
  • Work performed primarily on the production floor in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor multiple machines during production runs.
  • Perform in-process inspections of products to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Monitor production efficiency and report performance or mechanical issues.
  • Address line stoppages and perform immediate troubleshooting to correct issues.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance and minor machine repairs.
  • Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and SQF/ISO regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Assist with training and guidance of new or temporary employees.
  • Support other production and packaging operations as needed.
