About The Position

Cardinal Systems Inc. is a leading manufacturer of galvanized steel walls for in-ground swimming pools, as well as steel steps, benches, aluminum coping, liner track, and other custom fabrications. The Thermoforming Machine Operator will be trained on the finishing steps of a thermoformed part, including the proper use of hand tools and understanding procedures for each station. Responsibilities include maintaining workstation cleanliness and organization, basic ERP system functions for logging in/out of workstations, and adhering to safety protocols. The role involves operating manufacturing equipment to meet production requirements while upholding safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Will be required to climb, lift, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. independently.
  • Lifting various products safely may require the assistance of other personnel or machinery.
  • Ability to work at a steady and consistent pace.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous forklift operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the steps and stations associated with finishing a thermoformed part.
  • Be trained in the proper use of various hand tools needed to perform the required steps one station at a time.
  • Learn how to read and understand the procedure for each individual station.
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness and organization of their assigned workstation.
  • Learn basic ERP system functions to log in and out of a workstation.
  • Be trained on how to work safely in the department and at each individual workstation.
  • Develop a basic understanding of demolding and load up procedures.
  • Develop a basic understanding of the process and flow of the department.
  • Learn how to start up, shut down, and run assigned manufacturing processing equipment.
  • Operate machines at a rate which will meet scheduled production requirements while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Learn basic Global Shop procedures (clocking in & out of jobs, daily production & material transfers, checking inventory status, and completing daily tasks).
  • Develop an understanding of product knowledge to perform quality checks on parts.
  • Learn how to knowledgeably read prints/documents.
  • Gain understanding of the process and flow of the department.
  • Monitor and review existing standards, making or implementing suggestions that will further improve efficiency.
