About The Position

Support new aircraft program development and in-service aircraft in all thermodynamics-related issues. This includes aircraft ice/fog protection systems performance, zonal pressure, temperature and flowrate analysis, avionics cooling, and general thermal analysis of systems and structures. It requires understanding of the systems being analyzed and how they interface with the aircraft and other aircraft systems. It also requires communicating with internal systems/structures groups, system suppliers, and flight test teams to resolve issues, plan tests, analyze and certify modifications. More specifically, this position is to help the Global 7000 / 8000 thermodynamic team support the activities related to bleed air systems (wing ice protection system, environmental control system, ducting system, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Familiarity with the various aircraft pneumatics systems and their modeling is essential.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be available to travel on short term assignments.
  • Environmental Control System (ECS)
  • Bleed Air System
  • Ice Protection / Anti-Icing
  • Thermal Analysis / Thermodynamics
  • Avionics Cooling

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree including courses in fluid dynamics, atmospheric icing and heat transfer.
  • Familiarity with CATIA V5.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Fortran 77/95, Visual Basic and C/C++.
