About The Position

R. J. Corman Railroad Services is seeking a Thermite Welder to join our team in Nicholasville, KY. This role involves operating specialized equipment for rail repair, maintaining and setting up tools, and adhering to safety and regulatory standards. The position requires comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions and effective communication within the team.

Requirements

Previous experience in thermite welding required.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, permits, and driving requirements.
Must pass background, drug screen, and physical capacity test.
Lifting 100 lbs. maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
Ability to perform digging, hammering, and other physical types of work with various tools.
Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Operate thermite welding equipment to repair rail.
Transporting, operating, and servicing heavy equipment.
Practice safe working habits and ensure proper PPE is being used.
Maintenance, cleaning, and set-up of equipment requiring use of small and large tools.
Digging, hammering, and other physical types of work with various tools.
Follow DOT regulations, ensuring proper permits and driving regulations are followed.
Be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.
Communicate with team and supervisor throughout the job process.
Other duties as assigned.
