About The Position

This summer internship is an entry-level mechanical engineering role supporting MAHLE’s Compressor Product Engineering Group. The intern will help launch automotive air-conditioning compressor designs for global customer vehicle applications and participate hands-on in product development, including product design, component selection, prototype builds, prototype testing, and test data analysis.

The work includes bench and vehicle testing of advanced HVAC technologies, TMM-R testing and analysis, R-290 systems development, engineering design, design-validation support across multiple technologies, and coordinating prototype component builds. The role offers a collaborative environment, exciting assignments, and personal and career development opportunities. The interview process typically includes a screening call followed by one or more personal interviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; the role is open to students at sophomore level or higher.
• Knowledge of CAD, MS Project, MATLAB/Simulink, electronics, and software.
• Ability to communicate within small teams.
• Problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Compressor Product Engineering Group in launching automotive air-conditioning compressor designs for global vehicle applications.
