About The Position

Support the delivery of high-quality school-based therapy services by providing clinical guidance, mentorship, training, and practice support to occupational therapists, physical therapists, music therapists, and therapy assistants. Promote consistent implementation of evidence-based practices, quality documentation, professional growth, and compliance with division and district requirements.

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited university
  • Current License issued by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners or Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
  • Effective and efficient oral and written communication skills for collaboration with staff, managers, and external partners
  • Reliable transportation to/from work and between multiple school sites
  • Efficient mobility within and between worksites
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills to manage multiple priorities and support staff development
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain accurate, complete, and auditable records
  • Proficiency with computer systems, software applications, and online platforms used for documentation, scheduling, and communication
  • Knowledge of school-based therapy practices, evaluation processes, and educational service delivery
  • Ability to train, mentor, and support therapists in evidence-based, collaborative, and contextual practices
  • Ability to problem-solve and provide guidance for complex or non-standard situations in school settings
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in school-based therapy (OT, PT), including direct service delivery to students with diverse needs
  • Experience with evaluations, documentation, and individualized education program (IEP) processes
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in problem-solving complex student, classroom, or procedural situations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mentoring or training other therapists or staff is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and support to new and existing therapists in school-based practice, including strategies for contextual, collaborative intervention.
  • Assist therapists with evaluations, consultations, and documentation to promote accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with district and division requirements.
  • Collaborate with managers to review and proof evaluation reports and support quality assurance initiatives.
  • Assist in planning and delivering professional development and training sessions for division staff.
  • Support division-wide projects and program planning as requested by managers, including implementation of new procedures or tools.
  • Serve as a resource for problem-solving complex cases, unusual situations, or challenging school environments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
