About The Position

Easterseals West Kentucky, Inc. is searching for a full-time Therapy/Billing Clerk. The Therapy/Billing Clerk will be responsible for keeping accurate logging of payments received from providers while maintaining current records and balances. They will work with managed care organizations (MCO’S) and insurance companies on denied claims (as needed) and correction of claim information (as needed).

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Previous medical coding and billing experience required
Ability to multi-task and manage a variety of projects and goals
Highly organized and detail oriented
Must be a citizen of the United States and possess a valid driver’s license
Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

Updates and obtains medical authorization for payment from insurers
Gathers information needed to secure payment from third party insurances
Regularly updates Medicaid cost and bad-debt reports, billing, collection and other related information
Follows all work processes, policies and procedures while maintaining compliance to the rules and regulations set forth by the company
Strives to deliver high quality results at all times in accordance with standards
Protects and keeps all patient information confidential
Accepts ownership for all tasks and responsibilities while improving the company’s reputation
