SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture with Select Medical, is seeking a full-time Therapy Aide in Richmond Heights, MO. Requirements

  • Minimum Direct patient care experience required.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with transporting and transferring patients to and from therapy sessions.
  • Experience cleaning and maintaining therapy equipment such as attaching specialty armrest, leg rests, and installing breaks for wheelchairs.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Therapists with transferring patients to/from all surfaces and equipment appropriate to the facility/department.
  • Assists Therapists in donning/doffing all adaptive equipment specific to the facility/department.
  • Assists Therapists with positioning patients for standing with appropriate orthotic/prosthetic devices and equipment.
  • Assists Therapists with other patient related treatment activities as appropriate and providing equipment.
  • Assist Therapists with patient related activities including equipment set-up and patient positioning in preparation for therapy session as outlined in the State Practice Act.
  • Maintains the department and department equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Prepares department each morning.
  • Picks up equipment during treatment hours and at the end of treatment day.
  • Maintains department and disinfects equipment throughout and at the conclusion of the treatment day according to hospital infection control policies and procedures.
  • Reports defective equipment to Therapy Supervisor.
  • Follows and assists with facility infection control policies and risk management procedures.
  • Assists the Therapy Supervisor with identification of support staff needs for patient care.
  • Assist Therapists in therapeutic dysphagia and feeding program as requested and supervised by the speech therapists.
