About The Position

Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehab is seeking a Therapy Aide II (Activities/Life Enrichment) for its Allentown & Fountain Hill locations. This is a part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, year-long position. The TR Aide II will be part of a team responsible for planning and implementing recreational/leisure activities for residents at Cedarbrook. This role involves evaluating and implementing resident activities programming, assessing resident recreation needs, developing care plans in coordination with resident input and the interdisciplinary team, running group activities, assisting with large events and resident outings, and collaborating with the L.E. team and other departments like nursing to ensure residents' leisure needs are met safely and efficiently. The position also requires appropriate documentation in the resident's chart.

Requirements

At least 2 years of substantiated experience working in a Long-term Care Activities or Therapeutic Recreation or Life Enrichment Department and/or a BS in Therapeutic Recreation.
Educational equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
Possession of a valid PA Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Evaluates and implements nursing home resident activities programming.
Assesses resident recreation needs and helps to develop care planning in coordination with resident's input and the interdisciplinary team.
Run group activities and assists team in running large events, including resident outings.
Works with the L.E. team and other departments, such as nursing, to ensure residents' leisure needs are met as per the care plan in an organized and safe manner.
Documents appropriately in the resident's chart.
Performs related work as required.
