About The Position

Alcott, a leading nonprofit agency dedicated to providing vital mental health and supportive housing services to low-income adults throughout Los Angeles County, is seeking compassionate, skilled, and mission-driven Therapists to join our Department of Mental Health (DMH) team. This is an excellent opportunity for Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASWs), Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFTs), Associate Professional Clinical Counselors (APCCs), and licensed clinicians (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) who are passionate about serving individuals living with serious mental illness. At Alcott, you'll provide meaningful, community-based behavioral health services while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team dedicated to promoting recovery, stability, and independence. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Current California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) registration as an ASW, AMFT, or APCC, or current California licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC.
  • Eligibility to provide Medi-Cal Specialty Mental Health Services.
  • Strong clinical assessment, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using electronic health record systems.
  • Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record and the ability to meet the agency's insurance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing behavioral health services to adults with serious mental illness, co-occurring disorders, or justice-involved populations is preferred.
  • Military-experienced candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with Welligent is preferred.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or another threshold language) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, conjoint/family, crisis intervention, rehabilitation, and other specialty mental health services in office, community, and field-based settings.
  • Deliver trauma-informed, recovery-oriented therapeutic interventions that support client wellness and independence.
  • Coordinate referrals and linkage to housing, medical providers, behavioral health services, benefits, and community resources.
  • Respond to psychiatric and behavioral health crises, including participation in an after-hours on-call rotation as assigned.
  • Maintain professional judgment and clinical standards while independently providing services throughout Los Angeles County.
  • Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and required clinical documentation accurately and within established timelines.
  • Maintain documentation in compliance with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH), Medi-Cal, and agency requirements.
  • Meet established productivity, documentation, and billing expectations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, medical providers, supervisors, and community partners to coordinate quality client care.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, mandated reporting requirements, and professional ethical standards.
